Dear Families:

The state-mandated annual hearing screening<http://www.asha.org/Advocacy/state/info/CA/California-Hearing-Screening-Requirements.htm#school> is required for all students who receive Special Education services and all 10th graders.

The screenings are conducted in a specialty-equipped van that tests multiple students at a time by the Hearing Conservation Associates.

The brief screenings for students with an IEP and 10th graders will be during English classes or Special Education classes.
Screening dates on site at Berkeley High School: January 9-11, 2019 (Wednesday-Friday).

In accordance with the BUSD Parent/Student Handbook<https://www.berkeleyschools.net/handbook/>, parents have the right to opt-out of the hearing screening.

Please email me directly if you have a student with an IEP, or a 10th grade student, and you would like them to opt-out of the hearing screening.
