[BHS Etree] DRAMA: The Colored Museum Opens Dec. 14 (Fri)

The Colored Museum, written by George C. Wolfe, and co-directed by BHS drama teacher, Jordan Winer and BHS students Tanaka Dunbar-Ngwara and Kira Norwood, opens this Friday at 7pm, with additional performances Dec. 15, 21, and 22, at 7pm.

The Saturday, Dec. 15 performance begins with a Kwanzaa Dinner at 6pm in honor of Richard Davies and the 50th Anniversary of the Berkeley High School African American Studies Department<https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_FRUuXoAiC0TlZBOE5teFhIT1hPSndzempubkdQN2lnUThv/view>. (A dress rehearsal is being held Thursday, Dec. 13 at 7pm.)

Students taking carpentry and stagecraft have put an amazing set together.

$5 students
$10 general admission

The Colored Museum is a farcical satire about serious issues, and in particular, African American history in the United States, as well as the tropes and stereotypes of the Black experience. Drama teacher and co-director Jordan Winer describes the play as "a scathing review, but very funny and uplifting too."
