PSAT~This Saturday

All students registered and wait-listed for the PSAT must report on Saturday, October 13th to the campus green by 8 a.m. Wait listed students will pay upon entrance and all will take the test. Room assignments will be posted on the C building doors closest to Milvia. All students should bring several number 2 pencils with good erasers, a  calculator for the Math section, and a snack which may be eaten during the scheduled breaks. BHS students do not need a photo ID. Standard testing should end between noon and 12:30 p.m.


Unity Week October 15-19

On Monday, October 15, BIHS leadership will be hosting an event to spread positivity during Unity Week. During lunch in the quad, there will be tables set up to write your classmates positive notes and shout-outs which will be delivered to their 4th period classes during the remainder of the week. Make sure to find out your friends' 4th periods beforehand! Hope to see you there.

There will be a preseason Varsity Boy’s Tennis Team meeting for all new and returning players this coming Monday October 15 at 3:30pm at the Coaches Room at Jacket Stadium. Friendly Reminder:

10th, 11th, and 12th graders! This is the last week to apply for CSF, a student organization that fosters excellence in academics and community service. Pick up an application in the CCC and turn it in by Friday 10/19!


Audition Call:

Calling all African American singers actors and dancers- come audition for The Colored Museum, a seriously funny play that spoofs white and Black America with humor, song, and lyrical brilliance...

No experience needed to come and try out for BHS' drama offering for the 50th anniversary of the African American studies Dept.

Auditions held Tuesday and Wed Oct 16th and 17th.

Sign ups start Wednesday in the A building first floor!!


Bay Area Zeta Theater:

Bay Area Zeta players is a non-profit teen run theater organization focused on giving every teen, regardless of theater background, the opportunity to help produce/involve themselves in a fully fledged professional show.

We are holding auditions for our latest play, Dog Sees God: Confessions of a teenage blockhead by Burt Royal on October 14th email bayareazetaplayers at gmail.com to reserve an audition slot or for more questions.

Those who are interested in a role are expected to prepare a 1-2 minute contemporary monologue, and the show will be premiering January 18th, 19th, and the 20th.

Berkeley High School’s African American Studies Department

Celebrates 50 years~

The BHS African American Studies department is hosting a Kick-Off Festival to celebrate it's 50 Year Anniversary. Come to the BHS courtyard to enjoy music, great food, shopping, poetry, line dancing, and more! Saturday 10/20/2018 from Noon to 6pm. Oh yeah, 4:30 pm starts the old school kickball tournament so bring your A game! Invite your family and friends to this free event!


SENIORS: PETITION TO GRADUATE EARLY FORMS ARE DUE INTO THE REGISTRAR'S OFFICE BY OCT 26, 2018 NOT LATER THAN 4:00 pm.


CIEE Global Navigator Program:

"Want to study abroad this summer?  Want to know how you can go abroad AND get financial aid?  Come to C320 after school on Thursday October 18th 3:45 to 5:00 PM to learn about the CIEE Global Navigator Program.  Learn about summer study abroad opportunities, funding and see how other Berkeley High School students managed to have an incredible international experience"
