*For all grades: Student Advisory Board on Education (SABE)*

This program is for students who want to have a voice in their education
and voice their opinions to the State Board of Education. The conference is
completely student-run and takes place in Sacramento from *November 5th to
November 8th*. In a nutshell there are groups of 10, each with their topic
area (like Mental Health, or Restorative Justice, or Immigration Rights)
and by the end of the 4 days, each group gives a proposal/speech to the
State Board about how they can improve education within that topic area.

In the process you'll learn a ton about the education system, make friends,
and meet a ton of cool people at the capitol. I encourage anyone who wants
to be politically active and engaged to apply. It's truly a life-changing
opportunity! *If you're interested in this opportunity, go to **casc.net/sabe
<http://casc.net/sabe> and apply online. *

If you have any questions about the conference or anything school board
related feel free to reach me (Arvin,12th grader in BIHS who is also on the
