Berkeley High is grateful to the many wonderful volunteers who made this week's Registration possible. It was a pleasure to meet the new students and families and to see familiar faces. So many of you came in to help, and a handful of you came in for more than one shift or stayed all day. Every single one of the volunteers was positive and flexible, which reflects back onto our students and staff -- Thank you, Thank you!
We are looking for more help during the first week of school; it is an exciting and important time to be on campus. Please Note: Mondays are "late start" days, school begins at 9:57 am; Tuesday-Friday school begins at 8:27 am.
1. We need 3 "runners" on the first 2 days of school, August 27 and 28 (Monday and Tuesday), to deliver schedule changes to students who have put in a schedule change form. On Monday from 9:50 am-12:10 pm, and Tuesday from 8:20 am-11:20 am.
Students must attend all classes on the schedule which they collect during registration (no matter how off or wrong). Counselors will get back in touch with them as fast as possible by sending runners with the new schedule to the classes found on the old schedule.
2. Also, on Monday and Tuesday we would like help distributing ID cards in the Jacket Gym. We need 4 volunteers during lunchtime on Monday 12:00 Noon-1:00 pm and Tuesday 11:15 am-12:30 pm and 4 volunteers after school Monday and Tuesday 3:20-4:15 pm.
3. The first 10 days of school, we need 1 person each day during 2nd period to help collect official attendance data. This is a fun task which takes place between 9:45 and 10:15 am every day between August 27 and September 10. You will get the rare opportunity to walk into classrooms during class time.
If you can help, please let me know.
Enjoy your weekend and hope your students have a great first day of school!
