Positive Shout Outs
Ms. Schweng will read the morning announcements next Friday, June 1, and positive shout outs will return at that time.

Morning Sports Report
More than 20 Jacket track and field athletes are competing this week in the North Coast Section Meet of Champions at UC Berkeley's Edwards Stadium. Congratulations on making it this far, and we wish them much success!

Quarter 4 Progress Reports
Earlier this week, progress reports were sent out to families of students who are at risk of failing one or more courses for Semester 2. Progress Reports reflect a student's current standing in each of their classes. This information is provided to families so that they can act to maintain or improve their student's academic performance. Progress Reports do not represent a final grade, so if you have received one, make plans now to meet with your teacher or counselor, attend after school tutoring and prepare for success during these last few weeks of school.

Spring Carnival
ASB Leadership is excited to announce the inaugural Spring Carnival<http://berkeleyschools.net/leadership/?p=1224>, an all school event that will take place on the afternoon of Friday, June 1. The Spring Fair aims to unify the BHS student body and staff through fun, spirited activities to close out the school year. There will be free activities, including: inflatable obstacle courses, carnival games, friendly staff vs. student competitions, among other fun activities. Imagine the carnival scenes from Grease or the Harvest Festival in the sitcom Parks & Recreation!

There will be a special bell schedule on Friday, June 1, so that everyone can enjoy the carnival from 2:30 until 3:30. More information will be available next week.

Yearbooks Have Arrived!
Attention all yearbook buyers: yearbooks will be distributed immediately after school today on the Senior Steps. Today is the final scheduled day for you to collect or purchase your yearbook. Please bring your BHS student ID or other photo ID. If you did not purchase a yearbook, you can purchase one after school with cash or check.

Summer School Applications
Today is the last day to submit applications for BHS Summer School. Applications are available in the Counseling Center, which is on the first floor of the D Building.

Band & Orchestra Spring Concert
Tonight, Friday, May 25, the Berkeley High Band and Orchestra will present its final concert of the year at 7:00 pm in the Community Theater. During the concert, senior musicians will be honored, and guests will be treated an amazing evening of great music. Admission is free, so come out and support our Band and Orchestra program.

College Application Workshop for Juniors
Get a head start with college application essays by attending a 2-hour workshop! On Wednesday, May 30, from 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm in the CCC, juniors are invited to learn more about the UC Personal Insight Questions, the Common Application (for private and many out-of-state public colleges), do some brainstorming and get started on writing your essays. Bring your laptops or pen/paper to write, or use our computers at the CCC. Light refreshments will be provided. You must register in advance to guarantee a space; click here<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdFVBN3I50CSm8j364BytJkHb-_b4bIthtkbjtQSPjXd2oc2w/viewform> to register.
