Access to the BHS Campus During Instructional Time
This is a reminder to all students and staff that if you are entering campus during class time, you must enter through the main entrance on Allston Way. The doors on Martin Luther King are not open during instructional time. Students must present their student ID upon entry. In addition, in order to ensure the safety and security of our campus community, please do not open doors to permit entry for anyone onto campus, even students and staff who you know. Thank you for your cooperation.
Prom 2018
Prom 2018 is nine days away! Mystery and excitement await you on Saturday, April 21, from 8:00 pm until 11:30 pm, as the San Francisco Galleria will be transformed into the ultimate Masquerade experience. Tickets are $80 each ($70 each for students enrolled in the free and reduced lunch program) and you can purchase them with cash or check in the Leadership Office during lunch and after school, or you can buy tickets online (for a small service charge) at bhsprom2018.bpt.me<http://bhsprom2018.bpt.me/>.
Morning Sports Report
It was a good day yesterday for Jacket athletes! Congratulations to the varsity softball team for beating rival Bishop O'Dowd, and to the varsity baseball team for defeating San Leandro. 2018-2019 Course Requests and Requests to Change Learning Communities
Academic Counselors are available in the Counseling Office this week to meet with students who would like to make changes to their course selections for the 2018-19 school year. You can also submit a request to change learning communities (also known as small schools), for next year. The deadline to submit changes to courses or learning communities is tomorrow, Friday, April 13.
Black Scholars Celebration
Tonight the BHS African American Studies Department is hosting a program to recognize more than 250 Black students who earned a Semester 1 GPA or 3.0 or higher. The reception begins at 6:00 pm in the West Gallery, and the program begins at 6:45 in the Little Theater.
Saturday School
The next Saturday School will be held this Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00p.m. in room M301. Attending this Saturday School will clear up to 3 unverified period absences from March. Students who wish to attend Saturday School must sign up in the Attendance Office before school, during lunch or after school. We can only take up to 30 students per Saturday School.
This is the last Saturday School to make up absences before prom.
Principal's Office Hours
Ms. Schweng is hosting office hours tomorrow during lunch in her office in the D building. All students are invited to drop by. In addition, she will be reading the morning announcements tomorrow, so be sure to check your student Email later today for a link for positive shout outs.
