*Pi Day*
Thirty-one years ago today, the Exploratorium hosted the first-ever Pi Day
<https://www.exploratorium.edu/pi>, a celebration of the irrational number
that represents the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. The
value of π is rounded to 3.14, and every March 14, there are activities
around the world to honor this mathematical constant. So, Happy Pi Day!

*Friday** Lunchtime Events in the Courtyard*
Fellow Yellow Jackets: This Friday there will be two awesome events in the
courtyard! BHS alum Juwan Rohan <https://soundcloud.com/juwan-jrock-rohan> will
perform his latest tracks, and at the same time, students running for ASB
elected positions will answer your questions about their campaigns. Music
and elections, together, at lunch in the courtyard this Friday.
*Morning Sports Report*
Today the boys volleyball team hosts Castro Valley at 4:15 in the Jacket
Gym, and, weather permitting, the following teams will be in action today:
the varsity baseball team will play against Hayward at Moellering Field,
and the boys golf team will travel to Oakland to tee off against Alameda
and Bishop O’Dowd.
*Spring Break Dates*
Spring Break begins on Monday, April 2 and ends on Friday, April 6.
*College & Career Week Reminders*
Students: Have you noticed the special signs on classroom and office doors?
We have asked BHS staff to list all of the colleges and universities they
have attended. Be sure to ask them about the schools they attended, and why
they chose the schools they attended. Tomorrow is College Gear Day, and we
invite everyone to rep their school by wearing their favorite college
sweatshirt or T-shirt.
*TODAY: March 14 Day of Action*
Today, after the morning announcements, Students Demand Action, the student
club that is leading today’s day of action, invites you to join us in the
courtyard. Starting at 10:00, there will be opportunities for students to
speak on gun reform and gun violence, followed by a period of silence to
honor the 17 victims of Parkland. Finally, students will move to Jacket
Stadium to form a human peace sign. Students are not required to
participate in today’s actions; there will be classrooms across campus for
you to go to while the other events are taking place. Thank you, everyone,
for your support.
