Good evening everyone,

I’m writing tonight briefly to let you know a few things: we do not have any new information indicating that the threat made today against Berkeley High School was a credible threat.  What we reported to you earlier was specific to today, and we will be in continuous communication with our law enforcement partners as their work on this matter continues.  We will continue with school tomorrow as planned.  

As a reminder, we will be closing the A Gate during instructional hours starting tomorrow.  Students, if you are arriving late to campus for any reason, please be prepared to check in through the front office.  I also want to note that you will hear from me again tomorrow with a more detailed update on the lockdown drill that we have been planning for next Tuesday.

We care deeply about the safety of every student at Berkeley High School.  We will continue to work hard to do both the practical things that help us be prepared for emergencies, as well as the equally important work of supporting students and staff emotionally in dealing with the feelings that surface during a time like this.  Students, please reach out to counselors or any trusted adult on campus if you need to talk or ask questions, and take good care of each other too.
