Our next BOLD meeting will be held Monday, February 12 from 6:30 to 8:30 in the CCC.
We are excited to be hosting Lisa Miller from Classroom Matters. The focus of her presentation will be “Building Executive Function Skills Outside of the Classroom”. Lisa will share tools and strategies to implement at home to help diminish battles around homework, organization, time management, and more.
About the speaker:
Lisa Miller, a former Berkeley High School teacher, co-directs Classroom Matters in Berkeley. Classroom Matters offers academic support and mentoring to K-12 students, with an emphasis on executive function. In addition to training and managing a staff of over 35 tutors, Lisa develops curriculum for family workshops, student workshops, and professional development. With over 20 years of experience in education, Lisa travels to Bay Area schools to offer workshops and staff training. Lisa has worked as a new-teacher coach and mentor for the Oakland Unified school district. Outside of work, Lisa enjoys speaking French, being outdoors, and taming her two teenagers.
We hope to see you there!
Marguerite Fa-Kaji, Jenny Fosket, and Dylan Kaufman are the parent-volunteer facilitators of the Etree; please direct any questions about the Etree to them at bhs-owner at lmi.net<mailto:bhs-owner at lmi.net>.
