IMPORTANT COLLEGE APPLICATION UPDATES AND REMINDERS
1) CHECK YOUR PORTALS frequently, ESPECIALLY FOR CSUs.
2) Check if your application is incomplete or if you have missing documents.
3) If your portal for a school says you are missing your ACT/SAT scores, but you sent them to a campus that you applied to (or school code 3594 for SAT), contact the school ASAP. You may need to wait until early to mid-Feb for portal to update. There was a system-wide glitch with SAT scores sent to CSUs, so please follow-up with each school. Students will not be denied admittance because of "late" SAT scores and all applicants with missing scores are being sent the email. If you need help, please see your Counselor or Academic Advisor.
4) If you accept an offer of admission, send the campus your official transcript (see Registrar and fill out blue form) by the stated deadline.
5) Make sure you meet deadlines!

FINANCIAL AID

1) Complete and submit the FAFSA or Dream Act (for undocumented students) by March 2, 2018

2) Need help filling out the applications? Come to Financial Aid workshops after school in the Library Computer Lab Feb. 6 (Tues), Feb. 8 (Thurs), Feb. 13 (Tues), Feb. 15 (Thurs).

3) If you applied to private colleges, create a CSS Profile if your school offers CSS aid. For more information: https://cssprofile.collegeboard.org<https://cssprofile.collegeboard.org/>

4) Check your emails, Scholarship Box in the CCC, and Spreadsheet for Scholarship announcements.

SENDING TEST SCORES: Even if you self-reported your ACT and/or SAT scores on your applications, you must send your official scores from your accounts on the respective websites.

SAT Log in to your account on https://www.collegeboard.org/
Applying to CSUs: If you list a CSU campus(es) as an SAT score report recipient, your scores will automatically be sent to all campuses to which you've applied. You can also use the CSU systemwide institution code (3594) on Collegboard.com to ensure that all CSU campuses to which you apply receive your scores.
Applying to UCs:
Choose: Any (1) UC Campus you applied to and it will be shared with all the others
Applying to Private/Independent School(s):
Choose: The individual school that you will be applying to. Note: The first 4 official score reports are free with your registration fee.

ACT Log in to your account on https://www.act.org<https://www.act.org/>
Applying to CSUs: If you list a CSU campus as an ACT score report recipient, your scores will automatically be sent to all campuses to which you submit an application.
Applying to UCs: You can have your official score report sent to one UC campus you applied to, and all campuses you apply to will receive it.
Applying to Private/Independent School(s):
Choose: The individual school that you will be applying to. Note: The first 4 official score reports are free with your registration fee. Only scores from one test date will be sent.

TEST-FREE COLLEGES
Colleges recognize that standardized test results are not always a very good indicator of a student's success in college and later life. There are colleges and universities nationwide that have made standardized tests optional. A list of these colleges can be found at:
www.fairtest.org/univ/optional.htm<http://www.fairtest.org/univ/optional.htm>

REQUESTING OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS
Some colleges request an official transcript immediately; others by the end of the school year (after you accept the admission offer). Be sure to check the deadline. If you are unsure when your school wants it by, check with your Counselor or College Advisor. To order an official transcript, you need a blue transcript request form and Berkeley High School envelope. Both of these are available in the CCC or Registrar's office. Fill out the blue form, and then put the school's address, and a stamp on the envelope. Submit your transcript request form and envelope to the Registrar's Office. Ms. Mellion will send the transcripts to the schools.
