Seniors-


It is scholarship season. And you thought you were finished writing essays- not yet!


Here are updated scholarship opportunities:

1. Northrop Grumman Engineering Scholars Program: Due 2/4/18

*pursue career in engineering, computer science, math, or physics program

*4 yr. college

*minimum 3.0 GPA

*renewable scholarship for 4 years with satisfactory academic performance in full time course of study (at least 12 units)

*must accept Northrop Grumman summer internships 2 out 3 summers, contingent on job availability

*official transcript

* 3 letters of recommendation

* 400 word essay

2. Berkeley Retired Teachers Association: Morris and Juliet James Achievement Award:

Due 2/23/18

* must be Berkeley resident

* attended BUSD schools- at least 3 yrs. of elementary school, plus all of middle school and high school in BUSD

* application, transcript, and 1 page essay- Paper copies with an academic counselor and in the CCC Scholarship Box (next to the printer/copier)


3. Society of Women Engineers: Golden Gate Section: Due 3/24/18

* female students who intend to major in an engineering or computer science discipline at 4 yr. college or university

* must reside in Bay Area county- Alameda and Contra Costa included.

* paper copies in CCC Scholarhsip Box or download at:

* 2 references with letters

* essay

* transcript


4. Daughters of Penelope, Echo #4, Scholarship for Women: Due 4/30/18 by 11:59 PM Pacific Time

* 2 awards of $1,000 non-renewable; checks written to schools

* must be female, 17 yrs old or older at time of app

* legal resident of Alameda or Contra Costa Counties

* plan to attend college or university in Fall 2018

*GPA of 3.0 or above (with transcript)

quality involvement with others via work, school, community

*optional: SAR in FAFSA

* mail paper application . Paper applications in CCC Scholarship Box


5. Oakland Alameda County Coliseum Foundation:

Robert T. Nahas, Ann & Jon Reynolds, George P. Scotlan, and Morgan Family Foundation awards: All due 4/30/18


Robert T. Nahas Award: Paper copies in CCC Scholarship Box

* graduating senior in Alameda County

* record of community service for at least 2 yrs.

Minimum GPA of 3.)

* competed in competitive sports program for at least 2 yrs.

*US citizen, native born

*working towards B.A. degree

* transcript, 3 letters of rec, essay, community service info, proof of admission to 4 yr. school

Mail paper application to Oakland; postmarked by 4/30/18


George P. Scotlan, Reynolds, and Morgan Family Scholarship Awards; in CCC Scholarship Box

*graduating senior in Alameda County

*community service for at least 2 yrs.

*minimum GAP of 3.0

*proof of admission to 4 y college

*Student Air Report (SAR) in FAFSA to show financial need

native born US citizen

* transcript, 3 letters of rec, essay
