team won a doubleheader during Winter Break, and travels to Concord High
School to play on Saturday.

· This past Fall the BerkeleyHigh Ultimate Club
<https://twitter.com/bhscoup?lang=en> fielded its first ever Mixed (Coed)
team, “UpROAR”. Mixed ultimate features an even split of male and female
players on every point, and actively promotes gender equity in this
fast-paced, competitive field sport. UpROAR represented BHS with passion,
depth and skill in the inaugural season of mixed high school ultimate in
California, on their way to an undefeated 11-0 league record. They capped
the Fall season with an undefeated run through the California High School
Mixed State Championship tournament over the Winter break, taking home both
the championship trophy and the spirit award for their outstanding
sportsmanship. Congratulations to BHS UpROAR, 2017 California State champs!

Director’s office will review your physical, registration and Semester 1
GPA. You must have a Semester 1 GPA of 2.0 or higher to try out for spring
sports.

<http://bhs.berkeleyschools.net/athletics/>. The registration deadline
is January
31.

*Special Bell Schedule Next Week*

On Thursday, January 11th, all 2nd period teachers will give the
semi-annual BHS Student Survey in lieu of the announcements. The bell
schedule will be adjusted so that all classes will be 6 minutes shorter on
that day, and lunch will begin later than usual. The data collected through
this survey will help us better understand and measure our students’
evolving experience in our classrooms and on our campus. Later today we
will send out the special bell schedule for January 11 to all students and
staff.
