Transgender Day of Remembrance

Today is the Transgender Day of Remembrance, an annual observance on November 20 that honors the memory of those whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence.


Morning Sports Report

Congratulations to Girls Tennis on a great season! Sasha Turchak played the #1 seed in the first round of the NCS tournament. She played brilliantly but lost. It was the match of the tournament! Solia Valentine also played her best, but lost in the first round.



Congratulations also go out to the Cross Country team for a great season. Four athletes qualified for the State meet based on their times in Saturday’s North Coast Meet of Champions. Girls: Delaney Whitaker & Colleen Curry; Boys: Itai Bojdak-Yates & Jovi Tseng.



Tomorrow the Jacket basketball teams take on El Cerrito High School in the Donahue and M Gyms.


BHS Holiday Meal – Volunteer Update

ASB Leadership wishes to extend their appreciation for all of you who have signed up to help with the December 9 Holiday Meal! All of the volunteer slots for Saturday have been filled, but we still need students and parents to help us set up on Friday, December 8, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Please visit berkeleyschools.net/leadership to sign up.



In addition, we’re still looking for financial contributions and canned goods. Visit the Leadership Office for more information on how you can support this special BHS tradition.


Summer Travel Opportunity

Have you applied to take a summer trip with CIEE, the Council on International Educational Exchange?  Are you interested in improving your world language proficiency, developing global competency, making the world a better place AND getting a competitive edge on your college applications?



Application workshops for CIEE summer study abroad trips will take place on Tuesday, November 21st at lunch and after school at 3:45pm in room C-231.  Current applicants and new applicants are encouraged to attend.



Reminder: Thanksgiving Holidays

There is no school from Wednesday, November 22, through Friday, November 24.
