SENIORS: Chevron Corporation Black History Celebration: 2018 Murray Jacobs, Jr. & Percy Abrams, Jr. Scholarship:


 The scholarship is given in honor of Murray Jacobs Jr. and Percy Abram Jr., two distinguished African-American Chevron employees. Both championed diversity and this scholarship honors both of their contributions to Chevron.



The scholarships will be awarded to seniors who have demonstrated scholastic achievement, community involvement, and leadership skills.  All applicants must have an overall minimum GPA of 2.5. Seven scholarships will be awarded – (2) $5,000 grand prize and (5) $1,000 scholarships.  Each student must complete the enclosed application packet and submit a 500-750 word typed essay along with an up-to-date transcript.



Students need to submit their completed application, which must be emailed to SRBENScholarship at Chevron.com, by 10:00 PM, on Friday, January 16, 2018. Incomplete packets will not be considered.



All applicants will be notified of the contest results by the last week of January 2018.  The 1st place winner will be expected to read his or her essay at the 26th Annual San Ramon Black History Awareness Celebration on Wednesday, February 14, 2018.  Monies will be awarded upon verification of college enrollment.
