Here are the morning announcements for Monday, October 30

Morning Sports Report
In the West Alameda County Conference girls water polo championships, the girls varsity water polo team bounced back from a first-round loss to Piedmont on Thursday to defeat Lick-Wilmerding on Friday and Castro Valley on Saturday. While the team will not go on to the NCS playoffs, we want to recognize them, and all of the boys and girls water polo teams, for their hard work as student-athletes, and for representing Berkeley High!

On Friday night, hundreds of fans turned out to recognize senior football players and cheerleaders at Jacket Stadium. Both the JV and varsity football teams lost to rival Bishop O’Dowd, and will end their season this week with an away game on Friday night at Castro Valley.

Congratulations to the girls varsity volleyball team as they earned a berth into the North Coast Section/Les Schwab Tires championship tomorrow night. The 13th seed Lady Jackets take on 4 seed Foothill High School in Pleasanton tomorrow night, Halloween, at 7:00 pm.

BART Ticket Sales
BART ticket sales for November will take place on Wednesday, November 1, and Thursday, November 2. Students can order discounted BART tickets today in the Parent Resource Center, room D-224 during lunchtime only. The cost is $16 per ticket, but the ticket has $32 in value. Tickets can be purchased only with cash; no checks or credit cards accepted. Students can order up to 4 tickets per month.

TODAY: Halloween Party at the YMCA Teen Center
Come to the YMCA Teen Center, at the corner of MLK and Center Street, for a Haunted House experience! It will take place tonight from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. You can buy tickets at the front desk of the Teen Center. Tickets are $5.

Introducing the BHS Chorus
In 1958, BHS had a student body of about 1000, and an a cappella choir featuring 70 students. Today we have a student body bordering on 3000 and an a cappella choir of ZERO. And ZERO chorus classes.

All that changes now.

Come to room A-203 every Wednesday and Friday during 7th period, and reignite this gleeful tradition! We'll be singing everything from the Temptations to Taylor Swift, and it's gonna be 100% pure adrenaline and excitement. BE A PART OF HISTORY! No Pitch Perfect training required.

No School on Friday, November 3, and Friday, November 10
There will be no school for students on Friday, November 3; it is a professional development day for staff. And all Berkeley Unified School District facilities will be closed on Friday, November 10, in observance of Veterans Day.
