Here are the morning announcements for Wednesday and Friday, October 25 and
27



*Morning Sports Report*

The girls JV volleyball team celebrating back-to-back wins over San Leandro
and Encinal on Tuesday. Thursday all three girls volleyball teams fell to
Bishop O’Dowd, and the girls water polo team lost to Piedmont in a
first-round playoff match. The cross-country team had a strong showing at
the WACC meet at Oyster Bay, including a first-place finish in the boys
frosh/soph 5000 meters.



Interested in trying out for Girls Soccer? Come to an informational meeting
today at 4:00 in the Coaches Room, which is above the Jacket Stadium box
office in room J-205.



Friday, our football team takes on rival Bishop O’Dowd at Jacket Stadium.
The JV game starts at 4:00 pm, and we will recognize senior football
players and cheerleaders before the varsity game begins at 7:00 pm.
Remember: ASB sticker holders get in the games for free, and students with
a valid student ID receive a discount. Come out tonight and support our
football teams for their last home game of the season.



Remember: *Quarter 1 ends today, Friday.*  Athletes: now’s the time to make
sure you've turned in all your work and check your grades.  Quarter 1
grades determine eligibility for Sports.



*Friday Jazz*

Hello BHS!  Come join us for another stellar BHS Jazz @ Lunch, today
between the D and A buildings. Today's concert features "The Girls and
Pepe", including Kyra, flute; Mabel Smith, trombone; Anna, piano; Kati,
bass; and Pepe, drums. Hope to see you there!



*Multicultural Night*

Auditions for the 2017 Multicultural Show conclude today, Friday, during
lunch in the East Gallery, which is across from the Cafeteria. Show how
your culture is important to you by showcasing your talent in song, dance,
poetry, public speaking, etc.



*No School on Friday, November 3, and Friday, November 10*

There will be no school for students on Friday, November 3; it is a
professional development day for staff. And all Berkeley Unified School
District facilities will be closed on Friday, November 10, in observance of
Veterans Day.



*Saturday School*

Today is your final opportunity to sign up for Saturday School tomorrow
from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon in room M-301. Attending this Saturday
School will clear up to 6 unverified period absences from October. Students
who wish to attend Saturday School must sign up in the Attendance Office
during lunch or after school. We can only take up to 30 students per
Saturday School session.



 *2018 Yearbook*

·   Yearbooks are on sale for $65.00 for a limited time! To order a
yearbook online, go to this website: www.yearbookordercenter.com and enter
school order number 16356. You can also drop by room C-327 during 7th
period to purchase a yearbook with cash or a check made out to Berkeley
High School.

·   Seniors!! Your family can order special senior pages or ads celebrating
their student! The cost for a full page is $180. To order yearbook ads

·   Finally, do you want to be a published artist? Do you take photos of
your friends, sports, or other BHS activities? Do you have great
photographs from UNITY week? You can submit your photos to be used in the
BHS Yearbook. Contribute photos through by visiting http://www.hjeshare.c
om/eShare/?code=gojackets or contacting Ms. Youngblood, the Yearbook
advisor, in room C-327 during 7th period
