Dear Seniors,

Your counselors and advisors recognize how hard you have been working on college applications. We are available to help you meet the deadlines, especially the November 30, 2017 deadline for UC and CSU.

We highly recommend the following free services:

1. Essay readers: Review the UC Personal Insight Questions and Common App (or Coalition) writing prompts. Come to the CCC on Monday morning @ 9:00 AM and Monday-Thursday during lunch and after school.

1.    Familiarize yourself with the UC essay prompts<http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/how-to-apply/personal-questions/freshman/index.html> and the Common App prompts<http://www.commonapp.org/whats-appening/application-updates/common-application-announces-2016-2017-essay-prompts>.

2. Application labs/workshops: Get help from college advisors to complete the college applications.

Wednesday and Thursday after school in the BHS Library Computer Lab

3. Financial Aid Support for you and your parents/guardians: Cash for College/FAFSA Workshop on November 9, 2017 @ 6:30 PM
Cash for College/FAFSA Workshop: Complete the FAFSA Application with hands- on help on November 9, 2017 at Berkeley High Library at 6:30 PM-8:30 PM.

Bring the following information to complete the FAFSA forms:
1. Student and Parent Social Security #'s (and Alien Registration #'s if you are not a U.S. Citizen).
- If you don't have either, you may be eligible for the CA DREAM Act App and scholarships
2. Bring your family's most recent 2016 Federal tax forms like 1040, W-2, bank statements, etc. You will not have to reveal this information to anyone, but you will need it to complete the forms.
- If your family does not file taxes and/or receives public assistance please bring those statements.

3. BUSD has submitted your Cal Grant GPA to the California Student Aid Commission. To check the status of your Cal Grant, create an account at webgrants4students.org<http://webgrants4students.org/>
4. Check college/university websites for special financial aid deadlines and forms (i.e. College Board's CSS Profile).
