Announcements are put together in the BHS Main Office by Felicia Phillips

Good Morning Berkeley High! Here are the morning announcements for Monday,
October 16.

*Unity Week 2017*

Welcome to Unity Week 2017! Thanks to everyone who showed their Jacket
Pride by wearing PJs to school today, and a shout out goes to those who
kept the lingerie and boxer short-style sleepwear at home. Make sure you
cover parts of your body that are normally covered at school. See you today
at lunch on the Community Theater Steps for the Pajama Jammy Jam Fashion
Show, which also includes giveaways and games. And Class of 2021: be on the
lookout today for events hosted by the Freshman Class Leadership team and
Link Leaders.

Tomorrow, the Sophomore Class wants to you to answer the question, “Who is
your superhero?” Superman? Wonder Woman? Luke Cage? Maybe members of your
family, friends, or teachers? On Tuesday, we ask you to celebrate, in
fashion, those superheroes who you believe help bring out the good each
day. Please remember that no masks can be worn on campus, and keep any
weapon-like items at home. The featured lunch activity is a student vs.
staff dodgeball game in the Jacket Gym.

Wednesday is West Coast Day, Thursday is Decades Day (with a special bell
schedule for the Show of Unity on Thursday afternoon) and Friday is Red and
Gold Day.

*Morning Sports Report*

The football games against Piedmont that were scheduled for Friday will be
played this afternoon at Piedmont High School. The JV game starts at 4:00,
and the varsity game begins at 7:00.

Senior Night for girls’ field hockey has been rescheduled for this
Thursday, October 19. The game against Lick-Wilmerding starts at 4:00 at
Jacket Stadium. Admission is free!

Don't forget to register on the Family ID website if you want to try out
for Jacket winter sports. More info in your student email!

Support BHS Girls Golf while you eat pizza! Lucia's Pizzeria, at 2016
Shattuck Ave. (between Addison and University) has agreed to donate 15% of
proceeds from take-out meals to support Jackets Girls Golf. Help support
the team by ordering take-out from Lucia's between Tuesday, October 17 and
Sunday October 22. Please mention BHS Girls Golf when you pay for your
order so that it will count toward our fundraiser. Better yet, join the
team for dinner on Sunday, October 22. That evening, food sales for diners
who mention BHS Girls Golf will count toward our fundraiser. We would love
to see you there!

*Attention, Seniors!*

This week, admissions representatives from more than 20 colleges and
universities will be on campus to meet with interested students, including:
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, University of Chicago, UC Santa Cruz and Yale.
Remember: you must have the College Advisor Pass signed by the teacher of
the period you plan to be in the CCC.

And if you haven’t yet signed up for a one-on-one advising appointment,
help with your admissions essays or applications, check your student Email
inbox for details on how to take advantage of these free services.
