No School Next Monday
There is no school for students on Monday, October 9. It is a professional development day for the BHS faculty and staff. Classes will resume on Tuesday, October 10.

PSAT Reminders
The last day to register for the October 14 PSAT is this Wednesday, October 4. You can go to the Jacket Stadium ticket office at lunch or after school to register. The cost is $25. Questions, contact BennetteWilliams at berkeley.net<mailto:BennetteWilliams at berkeley.net>

Special Issue of The Jacket
Today is the deadline for submissions to The Jacket that uplift Chicanx/Latinx heritage. Please send illustrations, photos, blurbs, poems, and other writing and visual art samples to Nina Price at nina.price654 at gmail.com<mailto:nina.price654 at gmail.com> or bring them today to room G108B.

Financial Aid Workshop
Attention Seniors! There will be a College Financial Aid Information Night for Parents and Guardians on Thursday, October 5th, in the Library at 6:30 pm. Please check your student emails for additional deadlines and reminders for the college application process.

Vagina Monologues
Anyone who identifies as a woman is encouraged to try out for the 2017-2018 production of the Vagina Monologues! Looking for actresses, singers and dancers; no experience necessary! Auditions will be held next Wednesday through Friday, October 11-13, in room C231 at lunch and after school. Sign ups are posted on the A building bulletin board. Morning Sports Report
In recent sports action, the girls varsity volleyball team lost to Piedmont but beat Tennyson, the girls JV Volleyball team also beat Tennyson, the boys Water Polo teams were defeated by Lick-Wilmerding but the girls varsity Water Polo team beat them, and the varsity Football team decisively handled Alameda High School for its second victory of the year.

Attention all student athletes interested in trying out for boys soccer 2017-18! The preseason team meeting for players and their families will be held TONIGHT, Monday, October 2nd, 2017 at 7:30pm at Sports Basement on Milvia Street in Berkeley. Tryouts begin on Monday, November 6th, 2017. To be eligible to try out you must be cleared by the BHS Athletic Department. Please go to www.berkeleyhighsoccer.com<http://www.berkeleyhighsoccer.com> and register at the team site to receive updates and additional information.

All winter sports tryouts will begin the week of November 6. Winter sports include: Basketball, Girls and Boys; Soccer, Girls and Boys and Wrestling, Girls and Boys. If you would like to try out you must complete the online Family ID registration before October 31. You must upload a doctor's clearance to the registration.
