Dear Community,

This morning a King Middle School student reported that she was approached by a male in a vehicle near Shattuck and Durant who made repeated inappropriate gestures and propositions.The student boarded an AC transit bus and called her parents as well as the Berkeley Police (BPD). BPD and District staff are investigating, and our student is safe.

The student described a green van with a gray roof with a partial license plate of 4E. The driver is described as a Latino male with a beard and a dark baseball cap.

We want to raise awareness, rather than alarm.

Esta mañana una estudiante de la Secundaria King Middle reportó que se le acercó un hombre en un vehículo cerca de Shattuck y Durant el cual hizo repetidas señas y propuestas inapropiadas. La estudiante abordó un autobús AC transit y llamó a sus padres, así como también a la Policía de Berkeley (BPD siglas en inglés). BPD y el personal del Distrito se encuentran investigando, y nuestra estudiante está segura.

La estudiante describió una camioneta color verde estilo "van" con un toldo gris y una placa parcial 4E. El conductor fue descrito como un hombre latino con barba y una gorra de béisbol.

Nosotros deseamos crear conciencia, en lugar de alarmarlos.
