Announcements are put together in the BHS Main Office by Felicia Phillips feliciaphillips at berkeley.net<mailto:feliciaphillips at berkeley.net>

Good Morning! Here are the morning announcements for Monday, September 18.

Attention, Seniors!
We want to shout out everyone who came out this morning for Senior Sunrise and the Senior Spell Out Photo! This week, the CCC welcomes nearly 20 institutions for information sessions, including the US Navy, American University of Paris, Rice University, University of British Columbia, and UC Pre-Med Health Services. Check your student Email account or the CCC section on the BHS website for this week's schedule. Don't forget, seniors: you must have a signed college presentation pass signed by your teacher in order to attend any info sessions.

Makeup Photos for Yearbook & Student ID Cards
Students & Staff: If you did not take your photo during Registration Week, you have another opportunity to do so. Our school photographer will be on campus this Friday, September 22. Students can take makeup photos at lunch or after school until 3:50 pm. Faculty and staff can take makeup photos from 11:00 until 11:30 am, and from 12:30 until 3:30 pm. Photo IDs will be available for pickup next Monday in the main office. Students who will not be at school on Friday should notify Ms. Williams in the Counseling Center so that alternate arrangements can be made.

Morning Sports Report
In recent cross country action, Taylor Yee won the frosh boys 2-mile run at the Ed Sias Invitational, and Colleen Curry won the frosh/soph girls 3-mile run at the West Alameda County Conference Center Meet #1. The cross country team competes again on Saturday, September 30, at the Westmoor Ram Invitational in Daly City.

The girls freshman and JV volleyball teams lost to San Leandro last week. The varsity team beat San Leandro in conference play, but lost over the weekend to Foothill in the East County Invitational Tournament.

The varsity football team lost to Pittsburg on Friday. After two weeks on the road, they return to Jacket Stadium to host Heritage High School Patriots this Friday night. Mark your calendars and come out to support our football team!

PSAT Registration Opens Soon
The PSAT is a test that allows 10th and 11th graders to prepare for the SAT and receive feedback on their academic strengths and weaknesses. Students who score high on the PSAT may also potentially qualify for scholarship money. The PSAT will be offered at BHS on Saturday, October 14.

PSAT registration opens for juniors on Wednesday, September 20, and for sophomores on Wednesday, September 27. Registration will remain open until Friday, October 4. Space is limited, so register early. Visit the Jacket Stadium ticket office on registration days during lunch and after school until 4pm. The cost is $25, paid by cash or check made out to Berkeley High School. Students eligible for free or reduced lunch will receive a discount, but you must first visit the Counseling Center for a form that must be signed by the Cafeteria Manager.

Have a great day, everyone!
