Dear Class of 2018,

Welcome to your senior year of high school!  The staff in the College &
Career Center (CCC) hope you have a great year.  We are here in D-221 to
help you every step of the way as you plan for life after graduation. We
provide support for college and job applications and more.

*CCC Hours:* Monday -Friday from 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

*Drop-In Hours for Questions:* Before school, during lunch, and after
school to 4:00 PM

*Top Ten To-Do List for Seniors:*

1. Complete *Senior Profile *for letters of recommendations for private
schools and scholarships.  Submit online by 9/14/17:

2. *Register for College Entrance Test - SAT or ACT. *


Next SAT test date is 10/7/17.  Must register by 9/8/17.  Refer to SAT
website at:

Next ACT test date is 10/28/17.  Must register by 9/22/17. Refer to ACT

3. Complete *school lunch form* for free or reduced lunch and the
opportunity to *get free test fee waivers* & college application fee
waivers.  Apply at: https://secure.ezmealapp.com/ApplicationScreen.aspx

Verify free and reduced lunch with Food Services Manager and return signed
form to CCC for test fee waiver codes from 8:00 AM to 1:45 PM.

4. Ask someone for a *letter of recommendation* for private school
application, CSU EOP application, scholarship, and/or job application.

5. *Review your transcript* for your classes, graduation requirements, and
a-g classes for UC and CSU requirements.  Ask counselor or CCC for a copy
of transcript.

6. *Check out CCC website* for ideas, resources, and calendar of college
admissions visits and presentations.  You get 10 excused absences for
college presentations.  Must get teachers' permission first.

7.* Talk to academic counselor, or college advisor, and career advisor*.
Class presentations by college advisor will begin in September.  Individual
advising appointments by Sign-Up Genius link to your student e-mail TBA.

8. Pick up *BHS Organizer*.  Keep track of usernames, passwords, deadlines,
including UC and CSU applications due 11/30/17.

9. Sign up for *e-tree messages* for events and news at BHS.  E-mail sign

Send email to bhsrequest at lmi.net with the word "subscribe" in subject line.
Read school email for college visits, application workshops, essay readers,
scholarship news, and more.

10. *See BHS Career Advisor, *Mr. Dopman for help with resumes,
internships, volunteer opportunities, and jobs. You will find Mr. Dopman in
CCC, D-221, during the lunch period.
