Are you interested in sailing? Berkeley High has a sailing team that sails out of the Richmond Yacht Club. They travel up and down the California coast, competing against over thirty other schools in the Pacific Coast Interscholastic Sailing Association (PCISA). They race in FJs, two person dinghies. They practice a couple times a week, meaning you can get a PE waiver for sailing.

No experience is necessary to join the team. The season runs from the end of September to the beginning of May. Richmond Yacht Club provides all boats and coaching, and carpools transport sailors to practice. For those interested, an informational meeting will be held at Richmond Yacht Club on September 10th, 4:30-5:30 pm. For more information, please contact team parent Joanna Ward at bhs at wards.us<mailto:bhs at wards.us> or visit the Richmond yacht club website http://www.richmondyc.org/page/13823~792690/High-School-Sailing-20162017.
