Good morning BHS students and families,

We want to inform you of an event that occurred on our campus yesterday
afternoon, June 7th, and the serious implications this can have for
students in our community. Today, during 6th period, a group of
approximately 40 students participated in a BHS "tradition" known as the
Senior Streak, in which students run through the campus nude or partially
nude.

While we are relieved that today's stunt did not result in direct physical
harm to students as in years past (physical injuries, an automobile
accident), it did lead to a major disruption to our campus and a loss of
learning time for thousands of BHS students today.

While some in our community see this as a harmless prank, for others this
event can be upsetting, offensive, and potentially traumatic.

We are also concerned that many students used personal cellphones to take
photos and record video of the event. Possession of these recorded images
could result in a wide variety of liabilities for those who either possess
or distribute them, as well as long term adverse repercussions for the
students in the footage. Therefore, we request that students delete any
images from today’s Senior Streak.

In the final days of the school year, we hope that students will be able to
celebrate and revel in the excitement of the graduation season while also
being mindful of the potential risks and long-term impacts of their actions.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Sincerely,

Kiernan Rok

Dean of Students
