Hello rising Sophomore, Juniors, and Seniors,
As you move to finish this school year strong, we are sending you a few
notes from the Leadership Office about activities and ways you can get
(more) involved next year.
ASB Leadership* will work to bring back many of the great events we held
this year and sprinkle in a few more while working with other student
leadership teams and student clubs on campus.
For 2017-18, look out for two dances in addition to prom, the return of
Unity Week, a more timely spring spirit week, a fall cultural performance,
service events like the Holiday Meal, club fairs, movie nights, open mics,
and lunchtime activities like intramural sports.
Please also strongly consider purchasing an ASB Sticker
<http://berkeleyschools.net/leadership/?p=895> as a way to both get some
cool items like a free yearbook and to support the awesome array of events
listed above. Feel free to speak with any of the members of the 2017-18
Leadership Team and the new Pres/VP listed below.

to become captain of a sports team, apply to become a member of the City of
Berkeley Youth Commission or other opportunities

can be a more kind and supportive member of the BHS community. Grazie!*
*Locker Clean Out & School Supplies Recycling is June 5-9th *
We will be collect any gently used notebooks, folders, binders, extra
paper, pens or pencils, another school supplies in the C-gallery on the
second floor of the C-Building. We will hold these items over the summer
and distribute them again in the fall. Thanks for helping to create less
waste in the landfill!
All students are required to clean out their lockers by Friday June 9,
2017. If you don't remove your items, staff will open and clear all lockers
after 4:00 on Friday. We've asked teachers and custodians to make recycling
bins visible and available widely - please use them.
*Joining a Sports Team in 17-18*
All student-athletes must submit a completed athletic packet (includes
physical form) before tryouts. This fall, you will still have to submit a
paper physical form (signed and stamped by a doctor), but will also need to
complete packet forms online. Periodically check the BHS Athletics website
<http://bhs.berkeleyschools.net/athletics/> to see when the digital
athletic packet becomes available.
*Yearbook Distribution should begin June 12*
Listen to the student bulletin and look for more details.
