Dear Berkeley High Families,

You may have noticed that unverified (UNV) period absences have been switched to unexcused period (UNX) absences in PowerSchool. This change in attendance code is a new requirement for attendance state reporting. Every unverified absence must now have a reason, and because no reason had been submitted to the attendance office within five school days, those old UNV's are now UNX's.

If you believe that you did indeed clear one of those absences within the required 5 days, then please submit your proof (clearance slip or email) to the attendance office and they will make the correction.

You can email the attendance office at attendanceoffice at berkeley.net<mailto:attendanceoffice at berkeley.net> or call, or come in person to clear an absence. Please remember to submit your clearances within five school days in the future.
