*Morning Sports Report*

On Friday afternoon, Both the JV and varsity baseball teams defeated 
Arroyo High School, but the girls varsity and JV softball teams lost to 
Castro Valley. This week several teams are competing away, but on 
Thursday the Jacket track & field team will host Alameda and Hayward in 
al all levels meet at Jacket Stadium, so come out and support them; 
admission is free.

*College Fair for Juniors*

On Sunday, April 30, 2017, 10:00am to 3:00 p.m. in the Jacket Gym, the 
College & Career Center will host the annual College Fair and Case 
Studies Workshop. The Case Studies Workshop will be held in C Building 
classrooms from 10am-11:30am. It will give you a firsthand understanding 
of how college admissions officers determine who they admit. College 
admissions counselors will go over several sample college applications 
to give students an overview of what college admissions officers look 
for, how they determine entry, and how to present yourself in your own 
college applications. This free event requires pre-registration and is 
open to BHS juniors accompanied by one adult (space is limited). 
Registration will be available soon! The College Fair will be held in 
the Jacket Gym from 1pm-3pm. College representatives from over 70 
colleges, universities, and community colleges will be available to 
answer your questions, get to know you, and provide information material 
about their programs. BHS Student ID Required!

*Hip Hop Production Class*

Are you interested in learning how to make beats? The Berkeley Teen 
Center is now offering a free hip-hop music production after school 
program called BeatWorks. BeatWorks aims to teach students the 
fundamentals of hip-hop music production in Logic Pro 10, taught by hip 
hop producers from Oakland California, as well as guest speakers, 
including Chance the Rapper's producer Garren Langford. The program will 
take place on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Berkeley Teen Center's Media 
Lab from 4-6 pm. Make sure to come by on Monday to claim a spot if you 
are interested, as space is limited.

Library Special Schedule*

The BHS library will be closed Tuesday, April 18 and Wednesday, April 
19, during 6th period as well as after school. The library will resume 
after school hours on Thursday, April 20.

*Test Prep Book Drive
*
Are you done with testing and don't know what to do with your ACT and/or 
SAT prep books? Donate them to the ACT and SAT book drive! As of right 
now, collection sites are set up in the 2nd floor gallery in the C 
building, and across the hall from room G-200; more collection sites 
will be added soon. All of the books collected will be distributed to 
BHS students who are not financially capable of purchasing the necessary 
materials. Thank you for your generosity and support.
