Twilite Basketball
The City of Berkeley is hosting the Winter 2017 session of Twilite Basketball now through March 18 at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Youth Services Center on Oregon Street. The Twilite Basketball League is an educational sports program sponsored by the Berkeley Young Adult Project, or YAP. Twilite Basketball participants attend a one-hour workshop preceding each game focused on issues such as tobacco and drug prevention, academic improvement, conflict resolution and more.

League play for 14- and 15-year olds is on Friday nights starting at 6:00, 16-18 year olds play on Saturday nights starting at 6:00. All players must show proof of age. Winter Wonderland Dance
A Winter Wonderland Dance is coming to BHS on Friday, February 3 from 7:00-10:00 pm. Show up and show out at Berkeley High's Winter Wonderland. This dance is for all grades to come and SLAYYY. Tickets go on sale soon and are available for purchase in the leadership office. Food and Entertainment will be provided! It would mean a lot to us if you could come out to help and we would appreciate your support! Jacket Newspaper's Black History Month Issue
The Jacket newspaper is publishing a Black History Month issue on February 10, and is now collecting submissions of poems, writing, and artwork from the BHS community that celebrate the African American experience. Please send all submissions to nataliebettendorf at students.berkeley.net<mailto:nataliebettendorf at students.berkeley.net> or drop them off in room G-108B. The hard deadline is January 28th.

Support Your Fellow Students
The BIHS Junior Class Leadership Team is sponsoring a socks and umbrella drive for homeless students at Berkeley High. Please bring new socks and new umbrellas to collection boxes in the C Building Gallery or in the breezeway of the G/H buildings. The drive ends on January 26. Swim Team
Do you want to be on the BHS Swim Team? Come to the informational meeting today during lunch. This is for boys and girls, and you don't need to have any past swimming experience. So come to the meeting today on the Jacket pool deck!

REMINDER: NO SCHOOL on Monday, January 16
All Berkeley Unified School District campuses and offices will be closed on Monday, January 16, in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.

Student & Staff ID Cards
Every student receives a student ID card at the beginning of the school year, or shortly after they enroll. You must carry your ID card at all times on campus. If you lose your student ID card, you can get a replacement for $10 from the Counseling Center in room D-141 during lunch or after school. For more information, please see page 17 in your Student Organizer.
New staff members can go to the Counseling Center to get staff ID cards at any time.
