Attention All 8th Grade Families -- IMPORTANT INFORMATION regarding enrollment at Berkeley High School for next year:

1. All parents/guardians must re-enroll in the Berkeley Unified School District for their current 8th grade student to continue on into 9th grade next school year. The enrollment for all of Berkeley High School's incoming 9th graders for 2017-18 began on December 5, 2016. In order to be included in the first BHS school lottery and course selection process, registration must be completed no later than this Friday, January 13.

Parents/guardians are asked to please take required documentation and re-enroll by visiting the BUSD Admissions Office at 2020 Bonar. You can find all the details, including the office hours and required documentation and much more, on the Berkeley High School webpage, under the "Prospective Families" menu. The process outlined is for Berkeley Residents Only. For information on Interdistrict Permits, please contact the Admissions Office directly at 644-6504.

The deadline for ALL current BUSD 8th graders and students new-to BUSD to register for 9th grade and participate in the first learning community lottery is this Friday, January 13, 2017.

If you miss the January 13 deadline, you must register and/or re-register starting March 27, 2017 by visiting the BUSD Admissions Office from 8:00-4:00. Students who are admitted into the district in March will be in the second round of the lottery.

Please visit the district website for information<http://www.berkeleyschools.net/departments/berkeley-school-admissions/enrolling-new-high-school-students/> on how to enroll your incoming 9th grade student at BHS and the Berkeley residency documentation required for registration.

2. Berkeley High Winter Information Night 2017 will be held on Wednesday, February 8 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the Community Theater on the BHS campus. During the Winter Information Night, representatives from departments and learning communities will make presentations and be available to answer questions. The evening will start promptly and parking can be challenging. Please plan accordingly.

Winter Information Night is an important step in learning about Berkeley High's many elective choices and learning community options so students can make an informed decision about Berkeley High School. All incoming students and their parent/guardians should plan on attending. Please note, all students must be accompanied by an adult. Spanish translation will be available. There will be no make-up for this event. Course Catalogs and Choices Brochures for the 2017-2018 school year will be provided on this night.

3. Berkeley High's Performing Arts Department (Music/Dance/Drama) will have an Information Night for Incoming 9th Graders on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the BHS Florence Schwimley Little Theater, 7:00 - 8:15 p.m.
