[BHS Etree] SPORTS: Boys & Girls Water Polo teams advance to the Conference Tournament

The Girls and Boys Varsity Water Polo teams will be competing in the West
Alameda County Conference tournament this week.



The tournament runs from Thursday, October 27, 2016 through Saturday,
October 29, 2016 at Encinal and San Leandro High Schools.



Boys’ first game is scheduled to play Encinal at 2:00 on Thursday, at
Encinal HS.

Girls’ first game is scheduled to play Piedmont at 3:00 Thursday, at
Encinal HS.



This is a single elimination tournament; should either the team win
Thursday, they would play Friday at San Leandro HS, the girls at 4:00 and
the boys at 5:00.



The winner of the tournament is the league champion and will receive an
automatic berth to the NCS (or NorCal) tournament. All other finishers in
the WACC tournament are eligible for post-season play on an at-large basis.
At-large selections are made by an NCS committee based on strength of
schedule, win-loss record (.500 or better, as a rule), league standing,
etc.
