Attendance Reminders for Teachers
Second period teachers: Please take roll within the first 10 minutes of 
class.
All teachers: No students out of class--no hall passes--in the first and 
last 10 minutes of class.

*Morning Sports Report*
It was a great Friday night for Jackets sports teams! Although the JV 
football team lost to Dougherty Valley, it was only by one point. The 
varsity football team pounced on the Wildcats 36-12. Next up: an away 
game this Friday in Oakland against the Castlemont Knights.

Also victorious on Friday was the girls volleyball team, who beat St. 
Mary's 3-1. They host St. Patrick-St. Vincent this afternoon at the 
Donahue Gym; the JV team plays at 4:15, and the varsity game will 
follow. Come out and support our Jacket volleyball team!

In other sports news....after tying Redwood last week, the girls varsity 
field hockey team travels to Marin Catholic this afternoon; game time is 
4:15, and the JV game will follow. Finally, the Jacket girls golf team 
tees off against Bishop O'Dowd today in Tilden Park.

*Girls Basketball*
There will be an informational meeting for all players planning to try 
out for the Girls Basketball Team's 2016-2017 season on Wednesday, 
September 7, at 4:15 pm in the M Gym. Please be on time.

*After School Tutoring Now Available*
The Learning Center is now open Monday - Thursday from 3:30 - 6:00 PM 
for drop-in tutorial assistance. Located in the College & Career Center 
on the 2nd floor of the D Building, the Learning Center has many highly 
skilled tutors available in every academic subject. We encourage you to 
take advantage of the academic support resources available at Berkeley 
High School.

*BART Tickets*
The Parent Resource Center would like to share the calendar for the 
2016-2017 BART ticket orders. BART tickets are available to BHS students 
at a 50% discount. Ticket orders take place on specific days each month 
during lunch time ONLY in room D224. For September, the dates on this 
Wednesday and Thursday, September 7 & 8. Students: you pay only $16 for 
a $32 value ticket, and you can purchase up to 4 tickets. Cash only - no 
checks accepted. Tickets arrive within 5-7 days.

*COLLEGE/CAREER: Information for Seniors*
1. Students must complete Senior Profile by 9/12/16 with on-line link 
from Ms. Price in student e-mail.
2. Register for College Entrance tests on-line- SAT or ACT.

SAT test dates: 10/1/16, 11/5/16, 12/3/16.
ACT test dates: 10/22/16, 12/10/16.

3. Check out College Visits Calendar at Berkeley High/CCC website: Go to 
BHS website. Click "Resources". Click "College and Career Center". Click 
"Calendar" to see the colleges coming to Berkeley High.

Students may be excused from class up to 10 times to listen to college 
presentations from college admissions directors in the CCC. Must have 
teacher's permission to attend college presentation. Pick up a College 
Advisor Pass in CCC or your student e-mail.

*Student Club Fair!*
Club fair on Thursday, September 15 on the Campus Green! Teachers: bring 
your class between 9am-11:30am to learn about and sign up for some rad 
clubs...Club leaders: if you want your club to participate in the fair,

*WORLD LANGUAGE: Final Placement Test*
Students: Are you interested in switching into a higher level language 
class? If so, please come to the last placement test on Thursday, 
September 8, at 3:45 p.m. in room M-104, Ms. Ferrer-Castro's room.

The Berkeley High Jacket is currently hiring freshmen for general staff 
positions. If you are interested in being a writer, photographer or 
illustrator for the school newspaper, please

*Summer and Fall PE Waivers*
Returning students: If you picked up a summer PE waiver last school 
year, please make sure to return the yellow copy of your waiver to the 
attendance office by no later than Friday September 16th.

Fall waivers are not available for pick up yet. The attendance office 
will begin distributing Fall 2016 PE Waivers beginning Monday September 
19th.

If you have questions about PE Waivers, please stop by the attendance 
office (D134) before school, during lunch, or after school. Thank you!
