As our Spring sports are finishing up we want to point out the high achievements as many teams went on to post season competition.
Congratulations to all of the 570+ Spring athletes for all of their hard work, dedication and representation of Berkeley High!

Badminton
Ian Kidder and Rachel Hu represented Berkeley High in the NCS Championships on Saturday 5/7!

Crew, Boys and Girls
May 6 and 7, USRowing Southwest Youth Championship included 591 boats from 38 clubs from across California, Arizona, and Utah.

Berkeley High was well represented by our boys and girls crews. Notable results include the Women's Pair of India Robinson and Lena Bertozzi, who placed second to win the Silver Medal and an invitation to Youth Nationals next month in New Jersey. The Women's Open Four won Bronze, and the Women's Varsity Four finished Fourth, just .8 seconds<https://www.facebook.com/HereNowSports/posts/990321007742530> out of the medals. Swimming and Diving, Boys and Girls read below for a season summary from the coach
Jack Faller won league and will compete, seeded #10, in the NCS Championships. 3 Boys Varsity Relay teams qualified and will compete in NCS Championships this week.

Track and Field, Boys and Girls
Just started their post season and will continue through Memorial Day weekend.

Tennis, Boys

Notes on the season from the BHS Swim Coach Veronica Hernandez:
Some highlights from the swim season.
JV Girls finished 6-2 and JV Boys were 5-3.

Varsity girls finished with a 4-4 record and were 5th at the league meet.
Freshman Haley Kirtland broke the 11 year old school record for the 50 Freestyle with a time of :25.21. The varsity girls also broke the 2005 school record for the 200 Freestyle Relay with a total time of 1:46.28. Junior Marit Frost, Sophomore Jessica Enciso, Senior Natalie Navo, and Freshman Haley Kirtland were on the relay representing every class at Berkeley High.

Varsity boys had a record of 6-2 and finished 3rd in the league, beating Bishop O'Dowd, who has beaten us in years past. Junior Jack Faller got All-League in the 100 Breaststroke, winning the league and qualifying for NCS with a time of 58.47, seeding him 11th at NCS. His time also qualifies him to swim at the State Champ meet in Clovis, CA. Jack was also 2nd in the league in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 22.01, also qualifying him for NCS. Jack is .09 second from breaking the school Breaststroke record which has stood since 1988, and .78 second from breaking the 50 Free record which has stood since 1981.

The boys also qualified 3 relay squads for NSC. Finishing 2nd in league the 200 Medley Relay with Sr Nicholas Ingenito, Jr Jack Faller, Sr Daniel Choy, Fr Maxime Hendrikse-Liu, 3rd in league the 200 Freestyle Relay with Jr Paul Olge-Sporer, Jr Gabriel Berman, Jr William Sooter and Jr Jack Faller, and our 400 Freestyle Relay will be swum by Jr Paul Olge-Sporer, Sr Nicholas Ingenito, Fr Maxime Hendrikse-Liu and Sr Daniel Choy.
