Join us for our last BOLD meeting of the year on Monday, May 9 from 6:30-
8:30 in the CCC.
The first 45 minutes will be devoted to discuss ways we can make our voices
heard through attending School Board meetings and visiting the office hours
of our School Board members.
During the 2nd hour we will have a presentation:
Getting Work Done--When and How to Intervene While Considering the
Emotional Needs of Your Teen
We will discuss the complexity of helping your teen feel successful at
school while recognizing the emotional impact of learning differences and
how they impact one's sense of self over time, with Reyna Cowan PsyD, LCSW.
Reyna is an adult, child and adolescent therapist in Rockridge. She
previously ran an assessment and treatment program at Children's Hospital
and Research Center Oakland
*BOLD (Berkeley High Families Owning Learning Differences)* is a support
group for parents of children with Learning Differences. This group, formed
in 2013 by Berkeley High parents, usually meets on the 2nd Monday of the
month at Berkeley High in the College and Career Center. BOLD is dedicated
to finding ways to support, empower and educate students with learning
disabilities and their families by fostering understanding and advocating
for effective intervention.
