Seniors:



Are you going to a California State University?  If so, please read this
important placement information.



*Entry Level Mathematics (ELM) Examination:*



The Entry Level Mathematics (ELM) Examination is designed to assess and
measure the level of mathematics skills. The CSU ELM must be completed by
all non-exempt entering undergraduates prior to enrollment in any course,
including remedial courses. Students who score 50 or above on the ELM will
be placed in college-level mathematics classes.



*English Placement Test (EPT):*



The English Placement Test (EPT) is designed to assess the level of reading
and writing skills of students entering the California State University.
The CSU EPT must be completed by all non-exempt entering undergraduates
prior to enrollment in any course, including remedial courses. Students who
score 147 or above on the EPT will be placed in college-level composition
classes.



Here is a complete list of all the ways students can be exempt from the
CSU's English and Math placement tests (EPT/ELM):

Specifically, you can skip the placement test if you can show proof of one
of the following scores:



1. 550 or higher in SAT Math

2. 23 or higher in ACT Math

3. 3 or better in College Board AP Calculus or AP Statistics

4. 500 or above in Critical Reading in SAT Reasoning test

5. 22 or greater in ACT English test

6. 3 or above on College Board AP Language & Composition or Composition &
Literature

WARNING: Schools have different completion dates! Seats at test centers are
filling up!
