Announcements are put together in the BHS Main Office. For those of you 
who do not hear the announcements where you are during second period, or 
if you would like to read them each day, you can find them in 
the Daily Bulletinsection of Powerschool.

*Berkeley High School Bulletin for Friday, April 8, 2016*

Principal Pasarow begins Friday’s announcements with positive shout outs.

Today’s first shout out is from Peter Rodrigues and goes to Kimberley 
D’Adamo, “A big congratulations to Ms. D'Adamo and the students 
presenting in the Interdisciplinary Art Show. I'm once again blown away 
by the quality and depth of thought and talent on display.”

Our next shout out is from Ms. Fullerton and is aimed at Julian 
Freedburg, “Ms. Fullerton would like to congratulate Julian Freedberg 
who scored in the top 2.5% on the PSAT among all Hispanic and Latino 
test-takers in the region. He has been invited to participate in the 
National Hispanic Recognition Program which highlights outstanding 
educational achievements to top colleges and universities. Felicidades 
Julian!”

The next shout out comes from Amanda Green and is aimed at Mr. Zolezzi, 
“Thanks to Mr. Z for all your hard work in AC leadership and teaching 
this year. Good luck with the new baby. We love you!”

Finally, a shout out from Mr. Mejia directed at his 2nd period 
composition class, Shout out to 2nd Period World Lit/Comp class for 
working hard at researching and producing excellent informational texts 
about the Black Panther Party - keep up the great work!

Dear BHS Community: If you'd like to learn about current issues of 
interest to students, check out the top-rated student-produced TV news 
program in the East Bay, KBHS TV News. Program #3, anchored by Alona 
Carter and Irene Gonzalez, features stories by and about Berkeley High 
and the community. Students: Check your school email for a link to the 
program or watch for it on BTV, cable channels 28 and 33.

*Biotech Academy!*

Biotech Academy application for Fall 2016 admission are due Friday, 
April 8th. Applications can be found at the Counseling Center. 
Applications can be submitted to Ms. Haber in room G301.

*Black Engineers!*

The National Society of Black Engineers Jr. Chapter has a field trip to 
UC Davis on Saturday April 16, 2016 from 9:30am-3:00pm. The event is 
sponsored by the UC Davis Black Engineers Association. The cost is $5.00 
and it covers bus transportation, registration and lunch. Interested 
members or potential members, please see Mr. Byndloss in D-140 before 
school, at lunch or after school.

BHS Jazz!*

Good luck to the BHS Jazz Jackets, competing tomorrow in the Monterey 
NextGen Jazz Festival! This is the premier jazz festival in the western 
US, and ours is one of only 12 high school bands who made the cut. Go 
Jazz Jackets!

*2016-2017 Course Requests*

Attention Students: Academic counselors will be available after school 
this week in the library computer lab to meet with 9th-11th graders who 
have not submitted course requests for next year or who want to make 
changes to their course requests. This is your last opportunity to make 
changes to next year's course selections; the deadline is Friday at 4:00.

BHS Prom 2016*

The 2016 Berkeley High School Prom for juniors and seniors will be held 
on Saturday, April 16, at the Scottish Rite Center in Oakland. Tickets 
are on sale in the Leadership Office at lunch and after school. You can 
pay with cash or a check payable to “BHS ASB”. The ticket price will 
increase each week, so please buy early.
