Dear BHS Community: If you'd like to learn about current issues of
interest to students, check out the top-rated student-produced TV news
program in the East Bay, KBHS TV News. Program #3, anchored by Alona
Carter and Irene Gonzalez, features stories by and about Berkeley High
and the community. Students: Check your school email for a link to the
program or watch for it on BTV, cable channels 28 and 33.

Biotech Academy!
Biotech Academy application for Fall 2016 admission are due Friday,
April 8th. Applications can be found at the Counseling Center.
Applications can be submitted to Ms. Haber in room G301.

Black Engineers!
The National Society of Black Engineers Jr. Chapter has a fieldtrip to
UC Davis on Saturday April 16, 2016 from 9:30am-3:00pm. The event is
sponsored by the UC Davis Black Engineers Association. The cost is $5.00
and it covers bus transportation, registration and lunch. Interested
members or potential members, please see Mr. Byndloss in D-140 before
school, at lunch or after school.

BHS Jazz!
Good luck to the BHS Jazz Jackets, competing tomorrow in the Monterey
NextGen Jazz Festival! This is the premier jazz festival in the western
US, and ours is one of only 12 high school bands who made the cut. Go
Jazz Jackets!

BART Tickets
Students can order BART tickets from the Parent Resource Center in room
D224 on Wednesday, April 6th and Thursday, April 7th.

Morning Sports Report
Today Jacket athletes in seven sports are in competition this afternoon.
Home games include swimming (vs. Bishop O'Dowd), boys JV baseball (vs.
San Leandro), boys tennis (vs. Piedmont) and badminton (vs. Arroyo).
Traveling to San Leandro today are the boys golf team and the boys
varsity baseball team, the track team and the girls varsity softball
team head to Castro Valley this afternoon, and the boys varsity
volleyball team plays on the road against Arroyo High School.

2016-2017 Course Requests
Attention Students: Academic counselors will be available after school
this week in the library computer lab to meet with 9th-11th graders who
have not submitted course requests for next year or who want to make
changes to their course requests.*This is your last opportunity to make
changes to next year's course selections; the deadline is Friday at 4:00.*

The BHS Interdisciplinary Exhibition is here! Thursday April 7th from
5:30-8:30! Community Theater Galleries. Free admission, Free Food, and

Attention SDSU-Bound Seniors
Congratulations if you have been accepted at San Diego State University!
Meet an Admissions Counselor from SDSU on Friday during 3rd period in
the CCC to talk about the next steps to matriculation at SDSU-
registrations, orientation, housing, and more. Be sure to get permission
from your 3rd period teacher to attend.

BHS Prom 2016
The 2016 Berkeley High School Prom for juniors and seniors will be held
on Saturday, April 16, at the Scottish Rite Center in Oakland. Tickets
are on sale in the Leadership Office at lunch and after school. You can
pay with cash or a check payable to “BHS ASB”. The ticket price will
increase each week, so please buy early.

Saturday School!
Saturday School this Saturday April 9th from 9am-12pm in H207. Enter
from the MLK and Allston corner of the H building. Sign up in the
attendance office before if you can or just come. Saturday School lets
you clear up to 6 absences. Tutors, computers and an awesome teacher are
available to help. Bring homework, projects, papers, or reading.
