We are very excited to welcome Berkeley High's new Boys and Girls Varsity
Swim Coach, Veronica Hernandez! (see below)



*Attention any interested swimmers:*

There will be an informational meeting after school Thursday, January 21st
at 1:00 p.m. (after finals) on the Pool Deck of the Berkeley High
Competition Swim Pool.



Former swimmers and anyone interested joining the team need to be there.



You will also get to meet the new Varsity Coach, Veronica Hernandez!



*Please remember that you will need to have a cleared Athletic Packet on
file with the Athletic Director's office, with a current clearance from a
physician.  Packets are available outside of J207 (AD office) and online at
the Berkeley High website Athletics tab.*



*VERONICA HERNANDEZ, BHS BOYS AND GIRLS VARSITY HEAD SWIMMING COACH*



Coach Veronica Hernandez is a full time professional swim coach with 15
years of experience working at the high school and USA Swimming club level.
 Veronica grew up and swam in San Jose and started volunteer coaching right
after high school.  She has since been a head coach of both high school
girls’ and boys’ teams, as well as the League Chairman for her High School
division, and the Meet Director of the High School League championship
meet.  Veronica is currently an age group coach with Albany Armada Aquatics
and serves on the executive committee of Pacific Swimming, the local
division of USA Swimming.  She has coached at every level of Pacific
Swimming’s All-Star teams, which compete locally and internationally.  She
also coaches at many local and national level camps with both Pacific and
USA Swimming.  With the help and experience of returning coaches Bill
Gaebler and Dan McGarry, Coach Veronica is excited for a successful first
season at Berkeley High.
