Dear Community,

Registration for the 2015-16 school year begins next week! Please find here the required Health Center and Emergency Cards and important information from the Athletic Department, Leadership, Attendance Office, and the BHS Development Group. There is also information on Connecting to Berkeley High, info about Transportation Safety, along with a general FAQ for the 2015-16 school year. http://bhs.berkeleyschools.net/information/2015-16-registration-info/

The Free and Reduced Lunch form can be completed online at https://secure.ezmealapp.com<https://secure.ezmealapp.com/> or can be picked up on registration day.

When your students attend registration next week, they should bring with them the following:
- Completed Emergency card
- Signed Health Center Release Form (for freshmen and new BHS students)
- Lock for their locker
--Money for ASB sticker (see link above)

Seniors: The Berkeley Book of College Essays (3rd edition) will be available for purchase on Monday from 9:00-1:00. The essays in this impressive book were all written by Berkeley High seniors and collected after they were accepted at college. The book costs $15, cash or check made out to BHSDG. All profits from the book go to the Berkeley High School College and Career Center.

Juniors - Tuesday, Aug. 25
Sophomores - Wednesday, Aug. 26
10th, 11th, 12th graders are to report to the Jacket Gym.

Last Name A - G       8:30 to 10:00 am
Last Name H - O       10:00 to 11:30 am
Last Name P - Z        1:00 to 2:30 pm
(Please note that doors will be closed from 11:30 - 1:00)

Freshmen Orientation and Registration
Thursday, Aug. 27 and Friday, Aug. 28
Incoming 9th graders report to Berkeley High at 8:00 am for orientation. There will be signs and Link Leaders directing you where to go. Freshman are supposed to meet on the steps of the BHS Community Theater. Each orientation assembly will begin promptly at 8:00 am. Orientation will consist of an assembly, small group sessions facilitated by Link Leaders, and a campus tour. Link Leaders are trained upperclassmen students who will guide a group of 9th graders starting with orientation through the end of the school year. Last Names A - K       Thursday, August 27 at 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
Last Names L - Z       Friday, August 28 at 8:00 am - 12:00

Freshman will have their school photo ID taken, receive the BHS organizer (free to all students - paid by the BHS Development Group), have a chance to purchase an Associated Student Body (ASB) Sticker, sign up for a locker, and turn in required forms. A light snack will be provided, but no lunch will be served. Please consider sending your student with a bag lunch.

Friday, August 28, Make-Up Registration Day
Doors will open at 8:30 and close at 12:30.
Please Note: Non-freshmen are encouraged to go through the process between 8:30-9:30 or 11:30-1:00 because freshmen (last names L-Z) will be going through the registration portion of their orientation between 9:30-11:30.

First Day of School - Wednesday, September 2, 8:27 a.m.
There is no "0" period on this day only.

Independent Study Families.  All high school students must report to campus on September 2 to pick up their schedule, meet with their teachers, receive their first assignments for the Fall semester. They will also have their picture ID taken, pick up free/reduced lunch forms, receive an organizer (free to all students this year!), and drop off emergency cards and other forms. The schedule is as follows:  Seniors 9:00am-11:00am, Juniors 11:30am-12:30pm, Sophomore/Freshman 1:30pm-2:30pm. STUDENTS WHO DO NOT ATTEND THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL MAY LOSE THEIR PLACEMENT IN THE PROGRAM.
