Urgent request: I need two more adult chaperones this Thursday.

 

Students will be going to Waste Management, Inc. at the Davis Street
Transfer Station in San Leandro with Mrs. Guedes class this Thursday 3/26.
11am pickup time on Milvia St. and 3:15pm drop off time. 

 

Participants will have a great opportunity to learn first-hand how
recyclable materials are sorted, separated and packaged at a working
material recovery facility and transfer station.  Students will learn about
the 4Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rot) and explore how their individual
actions can help reduce waste. During the field trip participants will take
part in hands-on activities in the Education Center and go on a walking tour
of the Davis Transfer Station, which includes views of the Garbage Pit and
two Material Recovery Facilities.
