Announcements are put together in the BHS Main Office. For those of you who
do not hear the announcements where you are during second period, or if you
would like to read them each day, you can find them in the Daily Bulletin
section of Powerschool.

 

Berkeley High School Bulletin, Wednesday February 25

 

ADMINISTRATION

1. Info sessions for AP science classes for next year will be this week and
next during lunch at 11:45. Please see below for subjects and locations.

WED AP Environmental Science (G216)

THU AP Chemistry (G304) & IB Environmental Studies (G209)

FRI AP Physics (G217)

 

2. Today, February 25th is the American Mathematics Competition. It will be
from 8:15 to 10:00 AM in the BHS Library. Go to room H216.

 

3. Remembrance for John Adams - Students and staff are invited to attend a
remembrance of John Adams, a BIHS graduate of 2014, on Friday, February 27th
in room C221, Ms. Green's room. The program will include videos of John in
classes, some of his favorite music and feature time for people to share
their memories. Feel free to bring snacks to share. This event, honoring the
memory of John Adams, begins at 3:40 and ends promptly at 4:30.

 

EVENTS

1. Dance Auditions for next year will be tomorrow, February 26th at 4 pm.
The workshops are at lunch and 3:30 to 5 PM from February 18th-25th.
Sophomores and Juniors can audition for next year's class. For more
questions please see Ms. Carr in the A building.

 

2. The Service Fair is Thursday, March 5th! Come during lunch or have your
teachers bring you during 4th and 5th period. Come learn about and get
involved with student clubs and community organization.

 

3. Summer Opportunities Fair is on March 2nd, go to the Jacket Gym during
2nd and 3rd period or lunch to find summer jobs, internships,
apprenticeships, volunteer positions, and courses. Bring your Resume & Dress
to Impress!

 

4. The Berkeley Youth Commission is sponsoring a Job Fair March 7th at YAP
Park and Community Center. It's a great way to find a job and make some
money.

 

5. Mark Your Calendars! The 2015 BIHS Art Exhibition is one month away. The
reception is on Thursday, March 26th from 5:30 to 8:30 pm in the Berkeley
Community Theater Galleries. Everyone is invited to enjoy Great Food and
Thoughtful Art by BHS students! Admission and Food is Free!!!

 

CLUBS

Are you familiar with designing digital art in Adobe illustrator? Have you
ever been interested in printing your own custom shirt designs? Then come
check out the 4s Club in room C400 today and every Wednesday after school
from 3:45 to 4:45. You will learn how to make custom digital art designs and
print them on all kinds of clothes.

 

COLLEGE/CAREER

1. Scholarship Opportunity for Juniors - Quest Bridge is a nonprofit
organization founded to increase the number of outstanding low income
students who attend leading colleges. Learn more on Friday, February 27th at
lunch in the CCC. Bring your lunch! Check out www.questbridge.org

2. The National Honor Society will be accepting completed applications
through this Friday 27th at lunch in the College Career Center (CCC).
