[BHS Etree]

Announcements are put together in the BHS Main Office. For those of you who
do not hear the announcements where you are during second period, or if you
would like to read them each day, you can find them in the Daily Bulletin
section of Powerschool.

 

Berkeley High School Bulletin, Thursday February 19

 

ADMINISTRATION

1. It is with a heavy heart I inform you that Berkeley High's Head Food
Court Chef -- William "Will" Harris passed on Saturday, February 14. If the
name does not sound familiar you may know him from being one of the first
faces you see in the food court -- standing tall with his black hat and
white chef coat. Will was kind hearted, hard-working and a man of few words.
He did his job with excellence and passion for 15 years at BHS. His presence
will truly be missed on campus. Let's be extra supportive to the cafeteria
personnel and other school personnel during this time of loss.

 

2. Saturday School is this Saturday, Feb. 21 from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon.
Students interested in attending must sign up in the Attendance Office
before school, at lunch or after school. Remember that you can only clear
the previous month's absences.

 

EVENTS

Don't miss the BHS production of The Vagina Monologues this Friday and
Saturday @ 7:00 pm. The show is written by Eve Ensler, it is her collection
of inspiring stories about woman of all ages and backgrounds. This awesome
production is entirely student produced and student performed! This is the
final weekend. BHS Little Theater. Students $5-8, Adults $10-15.

 

SPORTS

1. Congratulations to Boys Soccer for their defeat of Newark Memorial after
overtime and penalty kicks! BHS Jackets will play San Ramon Valley on
Saturday at 7:00 pm at San Ramon. Congratulations on advancing to the
Quarterfinals of the D1 North Coast Section playoffs.

 

2. Congratulations to Girls Soccer team for winning a decisive game against
College Prep! The Lady Jackets will host Carondelet at BHS on Saturday at
7:00 pm. Congratulations on advancing to the Quarterfinals of the D1 North
Coast Section playoffs.

 

3. The BHS swim team is hosting a swim-a-thon this Saturday, Feb. 21.  Ask
your friends, family and neighbors to sponsor you as you swim up to 1 mile.
Snacks provided, pledge sheets are in the Leadership Office. Contact Molly

CLUBS

1. The American Mathematics Competition is on Wednesday, Feb. 25. One more
week to prepare! Have fun doing interesting math with your friends.
Something more to put in your college application. A chance to be famous.
Practice sessions at lunch in H216, Feb 17, 19, 24.

 

2. Support Berkeley High Free the Children Club and come run at the upcoming
run-a-thon. It will be on March 1st at the BHS track from 10 am - Noon. Help
us raise money to support a village in Sierra Leone. See Rebecca Miller for
more info, or contact bhsfreethechildren at gmail.com
