Sadly we share with you this message from Marni Posey, BUSD Nutrition 
Services Manager and Bonnie Christensen, BUSD Executive Chef:

There is no good way to share with you the news we have of William 
Harris Jr. He passed away on Friday; William was home sick with the flu 
and collapsed. Currently, little else is known about what caused his death.

William had been with our department since 1996 and was loved and 
respected by all. He was an honest, hard working and very dedicated 
individual who could always be counted upon. William was remarkably fair 
and kind, but wasn't afraid to speak up (though he tended to mind his 
business and avoid gossip). In other words, he was a very decent human 
being who often went above and beyond.

As Marni put it -  William put everything and everyone ahead of himself, 
that is just how he did things... touching many lives. He loved his job, 
the staff he worked with and the students they serve at the High 
School.  William didn't know how to stay home from work to take care of 
himself - for him that was less pressing than anything else.

William leaves behind two children.  We will be in touch with them as 
events unfold.

When we have word about services, we will pass that along, cards etc. 
will also be passed around.

We are so sorry to have to pass this very sad news to all of you. Each 
of us will manage the loss in our own personal way, but please reach out 
if you feel you are struggling.

Care for yourselves, care for the ones you love.
