Please join us in the BHS College and Career Center (2nd floor of the D
Building) on Monday, February 9, from 6:30 - 8:30 pm for the monthly BOLD
meeting.

This month's meeting will feature presentations on Special Education Rights
from two compelling speakers: Dr. Susan Craig, BUSD Director, Student
Services; and Robin Miller, BHS parent and Representative of DREDF.

Dr. Craig will speak briefly about Special Education within the district,
and specifically Berkeley High School.

Immediately following, Robin Miller of Disability Rights Education and
Defense Fund (DREDF) will lead a workshop on education rights of students
with disabilities and how to obtain support and accommodations in high
school and beyond. DREDF is a nonprofit that promotes the civil rights of
all people with disabilities. DREDF's Parent Training and Information
Center provides free training and individual advocacy support for parents
and other caregivers, health and social service providers, educators and
others on addressing the education needs of students with disabilities.

BOLD is a support group for parents of children with Learning Differences.
This group, formed in 2013 by Berkeley high parents, meets on the 2nd Monday
of the month at Berkeley High in the College and Career Center. Our group
hopes to provide support and information to parents to help our students
navigate school.
