*Berkeley High School Bulletin for Wednesday, January 14, 2015 *

*CLUBS:*

*1. Knitting Club - *The holidays may be over, but the coldest part of 
winter is yet to come! Come to Knitting Club and learn how to make 
scarves and hats to stay warm. Knitting Club meets Fridays in the 
library during lunch. No supplies? No problem! We have yarn, needles and 
people to teach you! Remember you can even eat lunch in the library.

**

*2. Leadership**Club Information*

Hey Berkeley High! We are almost halfway through the school year and 
it's time for you to check out the list of over 100 clubs run by BHS 
students. The last five clubs to register were: UNICEF Club, Global 
Awareness, Karaoke Club, Elephant Club, and the FIDM Fashion Club. All 
of their meeting times and locations can be found in the student section 
of the BHS website of at the Leadership Office. Get your club on!

*3. Quiz Bowl - *Enjoy trivia? Are you always the first to name answers 
on Jeopardy? Quiz Bowl practice will begin Tuesday, January 13th at 3:45 
PM in room G304 and continue each Tuesday and Thursday.

*4. Ski Club - *There will be a meeting in room H208 on Friday at lunch 
for the Berkeley High Ski Club (Go Ahead Shred) Anyone interested in 
going on a one day ski trip should come. The trip will take place on 
January 31st. You can sign up on this site for the trip and find all 
rates on the site:

*COLLEGE/CAREER*

*1. PSAT Results -*Sophomores and Juniors who took the PSAT in October 
can go pick up their results from the College Career Center during 0 
period or lunch. Contact MaryJacobs at berkeley.net

*2. Seniors - Scholarship Info. - *Come learn about the /Berkeley 
Community Fund High Hopes Scholarship/. It gives you $4,000 for 4 years! 
Twenty five need-based scholarships will be awarded in June. The 
informational meeting is on January 14 during lunch in the College 
Career Center (CCC). Please bring your lunch to the CCC right after 3rd 
period so the presentation can start promptly.

*LEADERSHIP - *

**

*1. BHS Leadership - *BHS Leadership Applications are now available. If 
you are interested in becoming school president or one of the other 
elected positions, then pick up an application in the Leadership Office. 
This is a great way to create policies and activities that improve life 
on campus. All elected candidates applications are due March 1st.

**

*HEALTH CENTER*

**

*1. SHIFT -*Men! Listen Up! Join "SHIFT" and become part of a peer 
education group on campus, educating others about birth control, 
sexually transmitted infections, and healthy relationships. We need your 
voice. We need your opinions. We need YOU! Come to the Health Center in 
H105 for an application. Applications are due by 4 pm on Friday, January 
16th.

*ADMIN:*

**

*1. Saturday School - *Saturday school is on January 17, 2015 from 9 AM 
to 12 PM in H207. Students who wish to attend Saturday school must sign 
up in the Attendance Office before school, at lunch or after school. 
Only 30 students are allowed per Saturday School. Students will be 
chosen on a first come, first serve basis. ** Attending Saturday School 
will clear up to 6 period absences from the previous month. This January 
Saturday school will clear unexcused absences from the month of December.

**

*SPORTS: *

**

*1.Wrestling Match - *The only home wrestling match of the year is this 
Friday at 5:30 in the M Gym. It is free to attend. Come out and support 
the team as they battle Richmond and Wallenberg.
