1. January 22, 2015, 7:00 - 8:15 p.m. (Thurs.)

Performing Arts Departments (Music/Dance/Drama) Information Night for
Incoming 9th Graders will be held in the BHS Florence Schwimley Little
Theater.

 

2. February 11, 2015, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. (Wed.)

Winter Information Night, BHS Community Theater  

ALL incoming students and their families should plan on attending.
Representatives from departments and learning communities will make
presentations and be available to answer questions. Please note, all
students must be accompanied by an adult. Spanish translation will be
available. There will be no make-up for this event. Course Catalogs and
Choices Brochures for the 2015-2016 school year will be provided on this
night.

 

3. District Admission Process for Current BUSD Students: There will be
parent informational meetings at the middle schools from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. on
the following three dates:

King -- February 17 (Tues.)

Longfellow -- February 24 (Tues.)

Willard -- March 3 (Tues.)

These meetings will be conducted by BHS administrators and are for parents
from BUSD middle schools only. 

 

4. District Admission Process for New to BUSD students: Students who are new
to the district must first be admitted into the district before they can
register with Berkeley High and make lottery or course requests. Entering
into Berkeley High is a multi-step process: This process is only for
Berkeley residents. Information regarding inter-district transfers can be
obtained from the Admissions Office at 644-6504.

 

Pre-Admission: From January 20, 2015 through February 13, 2015. Families
must log on at http://berkeley.enrollments.us/StudentAdmissions.aspx to
begin the admission process in the District.

Pre-Admission is required for admission.

 

Bring the required documents to the BUSD Admissions Office at 2020 Bonar. We
advise new families to adhere to the following schedule, based on your
student's last name, to minimize wait times and help us manage the volume of
students we must process in an efficient manner:

 

Last Names:

A - F    (February 17)     8:00-12:00  and  12:45-3:00

G - L    (February 18)     8:00-12:00  and  12:45-3:00

M - S   (February 19)      8:00-12:00  and  12:45-3:00

T - Z    (February 20)      8:00-12:00  and  12:45-3:00

 

Whether you are already enrolled in a BUSD middle school or are a newly
admitted student enrolling in the district by February 23rd, 2015, you will
enter the BHS lottery at the same time.

 

5. Course and Lottery Selection: New-to-BUSD Students who have completed the
admission process can make course and lottery requests in the BHS Library at
6:00 p.m. on the following three different dates. The process will take
approximately 1.5 hours.   

 

 March  9, 2015 -- Last Name A - L

 March 16,  2015 -- Last Name M - Z

 March 23, 2015 -- Makeup session
