[BHS Etree] TEEN SERVICES: Y-Scholars Program Openings for 9th Graders and Orientations

The Y-Scholars Program at the YMCA-PG&E Teen Center just opened up a few
more spots for current freshman. Students who would like to get academic and
social support for the next 4 years are encouraged to apply.

 

Pick up an application at the Teen Center, just across from Berkeley High.
The application can also be downloaded at register.yscholars.org. 

 

If you have any detailed questions, please contact Jose Herrera Cruz,
Y-Scholars Program Coordinator, at 510 542 2130 or jcruz at ymca-cba.org.

 

Students who are already enrolled in the program, don’t forget about your
class orientation. 

 

9th Grade Orientation — Tuesday, September 9 at 7 PM 

10th Grade Orientation — Wednesday, September 10 at 7 PM

11th Grade Orientation — Thursday, September 11 at 7 PM 

12th Grade Orientation — Friday, September 12 at 7 PM 

 

About us

The Y-Scholars Program is a free after-school program that provides skills
and self-confidence to succeed in high school and to apply to college. The
program links first generation college-bound and low-income students to
mentors, tutors, and counselors who provide individual attention tailored to
students’ specific needs.
