ADMINISTRATION

 

1. Summer School - Juniors! Summer School applications are available in the
Counseling Office. Please turn them in to your counselor ASAP.



2. Spring PE Waivers - The deadline for Spring PE waivers has been extended
until Wednesday, May 28th. Please return your completed PE waiver to the
Attendance Office by 4 pm tomorrow.

 

3. Textbooks - Official textbook returns will begin next week, starting June
2nd, in the BCT Lobby. Bring your books back to the textbook room today and
beat the rush! The bookroom is open every day from 8:30 to 3:30 and you can
return books in the library from 3:30 to 4:30.

 

4. Rapid HIV Testing - Do you know your HIV status? If you're sexually
active, it's easier than ever to find out your HIV status: the Health Center
is now offering RAPID HIV TESTING. The test is easy, free, confidential and
you get your results in just 20 minutes! It's the easiest, fast way to test
and the Health Center gear. Go to the Health Center to find out more.

 

SENIORS

 

1. Graduation Tickets

 

Congratulations Seniors! Please check your school email account and open the
link for the Senior Exit Report from the College and Career Center. This is
a required form to submit before you can receive your two free graduation
tickets. After completing this online form, you may come to the CCC to pick
up your pass for retrieving your two free graduation tickets. Take that pass
to Ms. Reed in D173. Families may purchase additional tickets from Cal
Performances:

Ticket Prices: Bowl Regular $22..Bowl Reduced $15*

Lawn Regular $8..Lawn Reduced $8*

 

ALL SEATING IS GENERAL ADMISSION

Every person (including children of all ages) needs a ticket to enter the
Greek Theater.

 

*REDUCED TICKET PRICES: Students who receive free and reduced lunch are
eligible for discounted tickets. Discount codes will be available from the
counseling office. The discount code is good for five tickets and must be
presented in person at Zellerbach Hall at the time of purchase to receive
the discount.

 

Make sure to specify if you or a guest require ADA seating. Guests sitting
in the ADA section may have one person accompanying them. The box office can
clarify the ADA policy.

 

Transportation will be available to and from BHS at Milvia and Bancroft.
There will be 3-4 buses, one being wheelchair accessible, starting at 3:30.
Return trips will begin after the ceremony ends with the last bus leaving at
9pm.

 

2. Chicano Latino Graduation - The Latino students at BHS are proud to
announce the Chicano Latino Celebration will be on May 31st, 2014. Mass will
begin at 1pm in St. Ambrose Church St. Ambrose is located on 1145 Gilman St.
Albany, Ca 94706. Reception will be following mass (3:00pm-5:00pm) in
Berkeley High's Jacket gym.

 

SPORTS

 

Varsity Baseball - Congratulations to the Varsity Baseball team on their win
over Granada on Saturday. The Yellowjackets beat them in a 10 inning 2-0
victory which puts them in the NCS Semi-Finals. Berkeley High will meet up
with San Ramon Valley on Wednesday May 28 at 4:00 p.m. at San Ramon Valley
High School. Tickets are $9 for adults and $6 for students/seniors/children

ACTIVITIES

 

The Jacket - Join the BHS Jacket Newspaper's 2014-2015 staff! Apply to be a
writer, photographer, or illustrator for next school year. Download the
applications online at bhsjacket.com/join, and turn them in by Friday, May
30th. Email Nick Rio, managing editor, at nicholasrio at students.berkeley.net
if you have any further questions.

 

EVENTS

 

1. Come out and see Dance Production's last spectacular, full-bodied show of
the year this weekend: REEL DP Saturday and Sunday, May 31 & June 1 at 7pm
in the Little Theater We've made dances in response to the movies we love,
from Pan's Labyrinth to Mean Girls, and everything in between. Why?
Because...movies move us. It's a great show. Come see.

 

2. Tobacco Prevention - Come join 106.1 KMEL and the Health Center for a
Tobacco Prevention Summer Jam on the Senior Steps this Friday, May 30th at
lunch! There will be DJ's spinning records, positive shout-outs, and lots of
games about the harmful effects of tobacco. Come stamp out smoking while you
listen to music and win prizes! See you on the steps this Friday.
