*1. *College Information Forms*: All juniors should complete this
college planning form as soon as possible:

*2. ***College Essay Workshops*: Please stay tuned for information
regarding our upcoming college essay workshops - to be hosted in the CCC
during the week of June 16th. Juniors will be allowed to register for
*one* of three workshop dates (6/17, 6/18, 6/19).The workshops will
include preparation for the UC Personal Statements as well as the Common
App essay(s).The tentative schedule is 9:00am-3:00pm.Students will
register in the CCC -- registration period TBD.
*3. Individual Appointments with College Adviors*: Juniors can now sign
up for an individual appointment with Mr. Barton (AHA, AMPS, CAS, GRN,
AC -- last names A-K) and Ms. Price (BIHS and AC -- last names

*1. *Cal Grant -- How to check your Cal Grant status and make necessary
updates: *
1. Monitor your status at WebGrants 4 Students (WGS) on the California
Student Aid Commission site: https://mygrantinfo.csac.ca.gov/logon.asp
2. Create an Account (if you have not already done this)
3. Log In to your account
4. Click on the "Cal Grant" link
5. Click on the "Award Details" link
6. Check your "school listed"
7. Check your GPA and make sure it is correct
8. If the school that you currently have listed is NOT the school you
will be attending in the fall, make the necessary change by clicking
on the "school change" link
9. Make sure that the school you will be attending is listed first on
your FAFSA
10. After you graduate, log back into your account and confirm your
graduation status

2. CSU Early Start Requirement:*The CSU system recently enacted a policy
known as "Early Start" requiring incoming students who do not
demonstrate readiness for college-level math and/or English to begin
remediation during the summer before coming to the CSU. For questions,
please contact the CSU you plan on attending.
·Early Start is required for incoming students who have not fulfilled
the Entry Level Math and/or English Placement Test proficiency requirements.
·The program takes place the summer before the freshman year.
·Upon admission, CSU campuses will inform students how and where to sign
up for Early Start.
·Early Start math and English courses are available at every CSU campus,
and online.
·Financial aid will be available for those who demonstrate need.

applications are still open for the fall 2014 semester.Please come to
the CCC for support with applications and registering for assessment tests!

colleges/universities, check your e-mail accounts frequently. You will
likely receive contact from the colleges you have applied to,
traditionally providing instructions and information to set up your
account with the particular school you have applied to. These accounts,
often referred to as portals, will be your main line of communication
with each particular college/university. We recommend checking for
updates frequently!
*5.**SENIOR GRADES COUNT!* Whether you are applying to a private
college/university, CSU, UC, or out of state public school, senioryear
grades count! While you may be admitted to a college in the winter or
early in the spring, this is traditionally a preliminary or
"conditional" admittance pending receipt of your official senior year
