ADMINISTRATION

 

Hooray! National Library Week has arrived with all new, limited edition
bookmarks! Come up and get a new one every day. Take advantage of all the
services your extraordinary Teacher Librarians offer.

 

SENIORS

 

This is the very last week Prom Tickets are on sale! Tickets are $90 for
Juniors and Seniors. Buy your tickets on the senior steps at lunch or online
at bhsprom2014.brownpapertickets.com.

 

2. Gap Year Discussion in College Career Center: Thinking of taking time off
before college? Discuss options for a gap year with other students. Join
fellow students, led by senior Austin Lloyd, Thursday, April 17th, at lunch
in the College Career Center.

 

3. CSU Placement Tests: If you are planning on attending a CSU, be sure to
complete the mandatory placement test requirement. Every campus has a
deadline, and they will rescind you if you fail to take the tests in time.
The deadline for the May test is April 19th! Please see your college advisor
if you have questions.

 

4. Achievers will be in the Donahue Gym on April 24th after school from 3:30
to 4:30 to deliver caps, gowns, rings, etc. for last names A through L. They
will be here April 25th for last names M through Z.

 

CLUBS

 

1. Have you ever wanted to learn a new skill? Then come to the Knitting
Club! Meeting every Friday lunch in the school library, Knitting Club offers
free supplies, assistance and a place to work on a skill you can benefit
from for your entire life.

 

2. The Earphone English Club is today at lunch in Mr. Miller's room, C128.
Come and support the club.

 

JOB OPENING

 

Teen Task Force: Interested in a job opportunity for next year? Apply for a
spot on teen task force at the Berkeley Teen Center and work with teens to
create a strong teen community in Berkeley. Pick up your application at the
teen center, located on the corner of MLK and Center or ask Ava Mohsenin,
Ana Cardenas, or Mindy Ng for one before Friday, April 18th.

 

EVENT

 

The Berkeley High School Day of Silence will take place this Friday, April
18. Stay silent the entire day this Friday to show your support for LGBTQ
students who are forced to hide their identities because of bullying and
harassment. This includes no texting, Facebook, note passing, or hand
signals. Pick up an official Day of Silence card this Thursday at lunch on
the Senior Steps so that people will know you are participating.
